New NEC LCD Monitor
This afternoon, I drove up to Fry's and and treated myself to a new 19" monitor, NEC's MultiSync LCD 1970GX, for my home computer. The monitor is a nice addition and I'm thrilled with my increase in desktop real estate. Now I need to get rid of my old Viewsonic CRT.

Secure Hard Drive Deletion
Slashdot posted a thread titled, "Secure Hard Drive Deletion Appliance?" It contains some helpful answers for deleting and removing data off hard drives.
DBAN, Darik's Boot and Nuke CD-ROM, was mentioned and it is my tool of choice for wiping hard drives at the office. Other interesting tool and notes include:
- Ultimate Boot CD, http://www.ultimatebootcd.com
- BCWipe [jetico.com] to declassify secret hard drives
- http://www.driveduplicators.com/124.html, Its primarily a hard drive duplicator but it also has DoD 5220.22-M level wipe

Wildflower Center
I took the family out to the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center yesterday. I had a great time taking photos with my new Nikon D70. We fit in quite nicely with all the other families toting young ones and cameras.
Near the front entrance, we ran into a wedding party taking photographs by a pro with tripod and extra lighting.
